Collaboratorium Opens Today

Tulsa Business Staff
5/1/2009

The Collaboratorium, on the 10th floor of the Kanbar Properties-owned building at 111 W. Fifth St., opens today, said Sean Griffin, Collaboratorium chair.

Gerald Buckley, founder of the soon-to-be-launched Grocio.com is the Collaboratorium’s first tenant. As winner of the 2008 Tulsa Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, Buckley earns a one-year lease, in addition to $30,000 in capital from SpiritBank.

“Entrepreneurs now have a home that nurtures their talents and accelerates their success. Sustainable Tulsa’s sponsorship opens the door to a new set of opportunities to our green community. It’s a great day for entrepreneurs in Tulsa,” Griffin said.

The 2009 winner of the award, sponsored by SpiritBank and in a strategic partnership with the Tulsa Business Journal, will also win a one-year lease in the space.

Sustainable Tulsa is the founding sponsor of the Collaboratorium. Garrett Law donated Internet and phone service, and Up with Trees and L&M Office Furniture donated office furniture.

Start-up entrepreneurs may lease office space at a discounted cost and have access to shared conference rooms, coaching opportunities, connections to entrepreneurial networks and additional resources to encourage “entrepreneurial actions and long-term success,” according to releases.

The Collaboratorium is accepting applications for tenants. Applications are available at www.tulsacollab.com.
